Daniel Cerone himself (co-showrunner) recently said there’d be nothing beyond hints at John’s bisexuality until a hypothetical season 2. So I’m betting it’ll be a jokey kiss, but I’m not amused. When you’ve stepped in it as badly as they have, it doesn’t help to make light of it. He knows perfectly well that fans have been hurt by the bierasure in the show. And some believed him and replied to this tweet saying how excited they were to see John with a man. I know they need the viewers, but have some respect, please.
Dear Daniel Cerone:
I’ve been watching Constantine on hulu, because a) I like fantasy horror stuff and b) I think that after the pilot some of the show seems like it could almost get good someday if maybe…. well… y’know? It’s just not quite there. I love Zedd and Chas. Maybe if the main character weren’t so boring (or y’know, if they hadn’t taken an interesting character and removed all the interesting bits in favor of some douchey stereotypical antihero but whatever).
So here, so that no one else has to watch this to satisfy any curiosity:
Context is: Constantine is drunk and he’s kissing his friend goodnight. On the cheek. That’s all. (It’s a shame too; I can’t even hate the episode because it has so much Chas in it! and Don’t Fear The Reaper plays! and ZEDD ❤ …but I digress.)
I’m pretty hesitant to call anything out as queerbaiting BUT I really cannot fathom a better way to describe this particular tweet.
