Yeah, this is nice and all, but Cas is coded as male in the show. It’s like Mark saying that he thinks Crowley is pansexual- great in its concept, and a very plausible interpretation, but we’ve gotten no canonical confirmation (only some baiting in his earlier seasons). I really appreciate this kind of stuff, but I’m definitely not going to take it at face value or give the show credit for something it’s not actually doing.
Oh yeah, definitely not. The show doesn’t get credit for anything that isn’t explicitly & undeniably canon. It’s just nice to see that Misha, who has been playing Cas for years now, realizes that concepts of male & female don’t apply to Cas. As someone who’s genderqueer, having the actor of my favorite character say Cas is indifferent to his (their) gender is really nice to hear.
