Ok but guys… 

The SAME Director directed BOTH episodes. Thomas J Wright.

AND the only instructions for the fight scene in The Prisoner were “They Fight”. It was subsequently choreographed by Jensen and Misha to reflect a more emotionally poignant one. [x][x][x]

Also the plot summary for Dark Angel 2.03 – Proof of Purchase is as follows…

Alec (Jensen Ackles, a second generation transgenic) is captured by White (The Bad Guy) and his men. In desperation, Alec makes a deal with White. Alec will kill three transgenics in the next 24 hours and then White will let him live. In order to guarantee Alec’s obedience, White has a small explosive implanted along Alec’s brain stem. He also instructs Alec to cut off each victim’s barcode as “proof of purchase”. 

Alec, seemingly innocently goes to help Max (The love interest) locate Joshua (Also a second Generation transgenic. His brother essentially) and any other transgenics. It obviously never crosses his mind that Max might help him get out of his unsavory situation. 

Alec kills two transgenics but his time is running out, so he goes to White and asks for more time. Alec is captured by White and his men. In desperation, Alec makes a deal with White. To kill one more in the short time he has left.

So, he is left with Max. They fight and he bests her. But at the pinnacle moment, he cannot bring himself to kill her.

Max takes Alec to her ex-Manticore geneticist. With mere seconds remaining, the geneticist removes the explosive and Alec is OK. [x]

Now lets break this down shall we?

• Alec – is on a countdown to the end because of an explosive force bent on destroying him from the inside.
• Dean – is on a countdown to the end because of an explosive force bent on destroying him from the inside.
• Alec – is told that he must kill three people in order to survive.
• Dean – is told that he must kill three people in order to survive
• Alec – gets into a fight with his love interest but refuses to kill her, essentially opting to die

  instead.

• Dean – 

  gets into a fight with his love interest but refuses to kill him, opting to walk away instead.

• Alec – is saved by said love interest.
• Dean – ???

Need I even SAY what the connotations are here?
