Do you think he trains in case situations like this come up? Occasionally Sam will find him scooting down the bunker hallway while pretending to fire his weapon.

As someone who has some experience with this, let me just say that yes, he does.  That kind of shooting is hard enough, but to be able to do it on the move, with accuracy?  That’s muscle memory and that only comes from practice, practice, practice.
