The only thing this poor child could be sold for is like… taxidermy.

Are lethal whites the double merle of the horse world?

Sort of. It’s tied to coat color but the symptoms aren’t the same. A double merle dog isn’t necessarily going to die from it. They have deafness and often obviously deformed or missing eyes.

Lethal white foals are born seemingly perfectly healthy but have a wonked up colon that doesn’t work, so they go into colic and die painfully in a couple of days. A double merle dog may lead a semi normal life (or be lucky enough to be asymptomatic in rare instances) but a lethal white foal cannot survive its condition and should be immediately put down to avoid a painful suffering death via colic.

Why would anybody do this. This is abusive and ugh no.
