like why the fuck did they kill her #I really wanted her to kill Crowley and then become besties with the boys but no #Crowley lives on while she is dead and no one cares like fuck off

Meg 2.0 was killed off because the actress who plays her, Rachel Miner, has MS and physically couldn’t continue portraying that role. Supernatural could have recast the role since demons can posses anyone but they didn’t, which we should support because as someone with a disability I can assure you that it would have been awful for Rachel to see a new actress take her place on the show. They could have immediately issued a press released saying that the reason Meg was killed off was because of Rachael’s medical problems, which would have stopped the fandom from accusing the show of sexism. They didn’t, they endured public accusations of sexism because Rachel wasn’t ready to make her illness know to the public yet, she didn’t issue a statement about it until mid-season 9. 

Many  Supernatural fans reacted to Meg’s death with “They killed off a popular female character, Supernatural is sexist!” and the show dealt with that hate for almost a year even though they could have quickly ended it by revealing details about Rachel’s medical status. They didn’t. They respected her privacy even though it resulted in bad press for them. This show was good to Rachel Miner. Not only did they respect her right to chose when her medical details would be made public, they also killed off her characters so she wouldn’t have to endure another actress tacking on a role she could no longer physically portray. As someone with a physical disability I can attest that this was the absolute best way they could have handled this situation. Bravo Supernatural!
