Dean Winchester | 10×23 Brother’s Keeper

me when emptying the basement of old useless things
(I smashed tv sets with a hammer in case you’re wondering)

I see a little silhouette of a man: Scaramouche, Scaramouche. Will you do the fandango?

There’s a painting of a silhouette’d man that’s been in the background of bars and motel rooms since at least season 2.

Eeh, one day we will have to track down all the props used more than once and trace patterns of their use… but this is not the day lol.

Well, I can tell you from my adventures in tracing silhouette’d man that it was on the wall of a bar when Dean met Ash, the day he met Anna, when he saw human Castiel in the bar in Holy Terror and when he was in a bar with Crowley in Mother’s Little Helper.

It’s kind of like it means something… Now, I’m not saying these four people have anything in common, but. Fandango is an euphemism for sex (in Brother’s Keeper the light is out because he will not do the fandango.)

I kinda headcanonned it to be about that dream Dean had were he was fishing and was visited by Castiel. Like Castiel is still there waiting for Dean to come back. And that the beer is Kingdom beer.

Is that a beer ad?

I think so. Thats a fancy beerglass?

it looks kinda like it says “SOMETHING something Lager” – but I can’t really see it, and the word-shapes don’t seem to match up with anything on 200dollargod’s long list of liquor labels.

I’ll have a closer look, it seems like the episode of the third picture has a clear view?

Speaking of beer, in the motelroom Dean thrashes, there are at least three different kinds of beer. I cannot find out which kind as well…

Not that this means anything, but sometimes the show does use real beer signs.

We had this in the roadhouse:

which also showed up in “Holy Terror”:

It is actually a Budweiser sign (some of them have fish in the bubble and some have pheasants…there are probably more):

And in “Mother’s Little Helper” there was also this sign:

which appears to be some version of an “Olympia Beer” sign:

I think that the sign with the guy standing at the end of the pier is also a vintage sign for a real beer, and that’s part of why they purposely make it so hard to read.
