I love the collaborative nature of fandom. 

Someone will send a random blog an ask like “What if (Character X) was a horse?” 

And that blog will be like “If (Character X) was a horse she’d definitely be a race horse because of her competitive nature, I bet she’d do a super smug little dance every time she crossed the finish line too.”

And then someone else will be like “OMG I love your thoughts on this new Horse AU, I drew a picture of Horse!(Character X) and thought I’d show you!”

And then someone else will be like “So your drawing of Horse!(Character X) inspired me to write this fanfiction where everyone is horses I hope you like it.”

And someone else will be like “I drew my favorite scene from the Horse Fanfic!” 

And so on and so on until there’s this huge spinoff world that contains ideas from dozens of different people.
