Reblog if you are an adult woman (single, married, mom, non-mom, whatever!) professional, who did not give up fandom, fanfic, or fanart when you “grew up.”
AND WHO ARE YOU?
(I’m 43, single Mom, massage therapist, dance teacher, professional writer – still addicted to fanfic! My fandoms are Inception, Star Wars, MCU, and video games.)
I am certainly not ‘grown up’, though I pull off Adulting like I’m getting paid for it. (Oh wait…) 50, happily single, technical author, read lots of fic and write a little. Mostly MCU for now.
And have been thinking a lot lately about ageism in fandom.
*sidles up* Do adult AFAB agender folk count too?
I’m 30, married with one kid, programmer, major fic addict. mostly in Person of Interest fandom.
30, just bought a house, fandom 4 lyfe
turning 34 this year. fandom is getting me through an abrupt reintroduction to the single life. fandom and fanfic have kept me alive and given me reasons to smile and laugh. fandoms at present: some MCU but mostly Star Wars
35, been in online fandom starting with Trek in my early teens and never stopped. Tripped and fell into medical device engineering and never looked back. Happily single. Writer of fanfic, cosplayer, happy to consume all sorts of fannish media. Musketeers still occupies the #1 spot on my current fandoms (what third season?).
33 for six more weeks, single with a cat and an apartment of my own, financial person dealing with transport infrastructure. Fanfic, occasional meta, multi-fandom and celebrating my 10th Takarazuka fandom anniversary next month.
35 today. Civil servant (boring, right?) and author. I’ve been ficcing for 20 years, before I even knew other people did it 🙂 Been in online fandoms for 17 years this September, and I doubt I will ever stop.
30, single. I don’t participate super-actively in fandom usually, but you can bet I am sitting quietly at home writing meta and fanfics and making fanmixes, and, often, doing these things in my head at work. I cannot understand the appeal of a life without being a fan.
I’ll be 59 this year. I didn’t even get involved in fandom until after my first child was born.
I don’t see me stopping any time soon, either.
30, happily single. Full-time worker. Co-owner of three cats and a dog. In the process of buying a house for myself and my roommate, who has basically become my sister.
Fandom educated sheltered, teenage me and told her there were other things out there than the goals school and most adults told her she should aim toward. I don’t see my involvement ending any time soon.
