SAME! Especially with so many Let’s Players playing the new Doom right now. I guess her nicknaming the giant BFG is an iconic bit in the book, but it’s REALLY weird to hear that acronym in relation to a kid’s movie. If it wasn’t an important part of the book, they DEFINITELY would have just called it Big Friendly Giant. (Honestly they maybe should have anyway. How many adults with kids rn know about Doom but never heard of that one children’s book? Or have never heard of either? Making the title of a kid’s movie an acronym that is most commonly used in a VERY kid-unfriendly game is just a terrible marketing decision.)
