at what point did doctor doom decide to there needed to be version of ‘all you need is love’ replacing love with doom? was he just listening to the song one day and got inspired to do his own cover about himself? did he like the tune but got worried if someone heard him listening to a song about love he’d get kicked out of the supervillains’ league so he needed to change the words? or was it just an overzealous fan who sent him a gift?
i mean clearly he loves the song so much he wants to play on the jukebox in his evil lair while he’s alone but. i feel like there’s just. so much more to this story i need to know.

Well, I don’t read Dr. Doom comics, but I can tell you exactly where he got this idea. It’s from the 1967 television series “The Prisoner”. In the final episode of the series, our mysterious protagonist is led down a cave full of juke boxes playing “All You Need Is Love” before he is put on trial for….uh…whatever. That series was really weird and no one knows what the hell was going on at the end there.
