Well wait a minute… I thought it only runs in the family on their father’s side… John Winchester was the one allowed to be a vessel for Michael, and since Adam was a son of John, so was he. I’m not saying Lucifer wouldn’t try to mess with Mary (although it would be nice if they could LEAVE MY BABIES ALONE) but I don’t think he’ll take her for a vessel… At least I hope that he can’t because she wouldn’t be compatible (please?)
Nope, S5 established that Winchesters are vessels for Michael, while Campbells are vessels for Lucifer – otherwise it wouldn’t have mattered who John married. But the cupids were very specific about getting John Winchester together with Mary Campbell, so that they could have a pair of vessel brothers who were compatible with the respective angel brothers.
