oh btw i was watching 11.04 with Robbie’s and Thomas Wright’s commentary and apparently Dean’s carwash outfit? Jensen’s idea.

Oh my fucking god

He knows what’s up.

See this is a great example of validating the subtext.

Dean “I don’t do shorts” Winchester is never actually SHOWN on screen wearing shorts washing the car. All we know is Sam saying “what’s with the shorts” and Dean saying “it’s a free bunker”. Some could argue those lines alone are not enough to justify the argument that Dean was wearing shorts in that scene because he never outright says “yes I wear shorts” nor do we ever see the camera on said shorts. Maybe he had a pair of shorts in his pocket? Maybe he had a newspaper clipping of the latest “short” stocks. Maybe he had a series of short films playing on silent out of shot. Anything rather than him actually wearing shorts because hey he said he doesn’t wear them ok? And we never see them!

But then Jensen goes and actually wears the shorts. Even out of shot he wears them.

You see where I’m going with this of course.

….are you saying that Jensen is open to taking initiative in order to push subtext a step further into actual text despite it not showing up on film, meaning that it happened anyway and without some gun to Jensen’s head…..?
