I feel kind of guilty because I adore marvel films and I wanted to get into the comics but now with this whole nazi thing going on I feel like I’m supporting that by liking marvel and just it sucks and I feel guilty but I adore the films so much you know? Is it wrong if I still go watch them in cinema and buy the dvds would that be supporting this hydra!cap? Because I really don’t want to at all but I still love the films

I understand what you mean, yeah. 😦 I don’t think you need to feel guilty about the films – the MCU is owned by Disney, so it’s not directly controlled by Marvel comics, I don’t think. I don’t know how much Marvel comics profits off the MCU, but, well, you could always go the route of not actually paying for the movies. /cough

I don’t think supporting the MCU is the same as supporting Hydra!Cap or the Nazi leanings of Marvel, because that’s clearly not supported by the MCU. Chris Evans speaks out against Nazis and white supremacists on his Twitter and has condemned the Hydra!Cap storyline, so I don’t think he’d allow his Cap to be affiliated with that. MCU Cap fights Nazis and Hydra, end of story.

And as for getting into the comics – I’d suggest you make a statement by deliberately buying some issues that promote anti-Nazi ideology, like old Cap stuff and the X-men? I know they’re trying to demote the X-men because they’re about social justice. Buy anything featuring Jewish, PoC, women, queer characters, etc. Vote for those things with your dollars to tell them that this is what we believe in.
