#fuck the aclu#i used to like them#i like the first amendment as much as anyone#but damn look at context once in a fucking while#stop protecting nazis#start protecting people being actively beaten and murdered by nazis#howboutdah

the entire purpose of the aclu is to make sure that our rights don’t get taken away. if you’re ok with legal rights being taken away from ANYONE then you’re either ok with them being taken away from everyone, or you’re too naive to realize that once you peel up the corner of the carpet, someone is going to give it a yank.

i am getting real tired of seeing people play moral contagion panic about the only organization willing to defend rights instead of people.

edit: also, wtf is even the point of the post. bringing a bow and arrow to a protest is unusual and noteworthy. right wing assholes carrying assault rifles has been on every news page since friday fucking morning. someone noticing a weird thing does not have an obligation to report on the weird-thing-doer’s opponent’s activities. the op doesn’t even make any sense.
