Minors: why are you personally attacking me personally?
Adults: ….????????…………
Minors: I know you want to fuck children
Me: *looks at fic with one character that’s in his 40′s and another that’s in his 50′s, with no children in sight*
Me: ………please get out of my house
(I still get a lot of responses to this post calling me a pedo and I am t i r e d of this bottom-of-the-barrel quality discourse)
* this obviously doesn’t apply to all minors, and to all those minors (like me, when I was your age!) that manage to enjoy and participate in fandom without calling everyone a pedophile, I appreciate you.
Adults: we want to write/draw porn of these fictional adult characters.
Minors: that’s not appropriate for children.
Adults: yep! that’s why it’s tagged as explicit and has a warning for mature content and also is tagged for various sex acts in case you’re not into that.
Minors: that type of content makes me uncomfortable.
Adults: we totally get that but that’s why the tags and warnings are on it.
Adults: look you even have to agree:
This work could have adult content. If you proceed you have agreed that you are willing to see such content.
Adults: so if you’re not into that type of thing then you can just skip over it.
Minors: it make me uncomfortable.
Adults: ……then… don’t… read it?
Minors: no.
Minors: you should stop writing it.
Adults: no.
JUST FUCKING SAYING
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If you’re old enough to be using the internet unsupervised, then you’re old enough to be learn how to avoid content that upsets you. Adult fans and content creators are not here to be your babysitters.
I had to use this very same screenshot to explain to teachers why we filter Tumblr on the school network…
A leucistic female mallard and her drake popped up on the stern for a quick snack-and-quack. Courtesy of Disney Princess powers “Wild Things” Specially Formulated Duck And Swan Pellets.
The leucistic mallard in this area is very human-socialized. It’s possible that she’s a domestic crossbreed, but it’s more likely that her unusual color morph attracts attention/is seen as memorable, and so she gets preferentially singled out and fed. OR, also likely, she’s just absurdly in love with the boat. She really, really loves the boat. She gets a bit of food from us, but we think that she’s just excited about the nesting possibilities inherent in our herb garden, which we’re trying to discourage – we won’t be able to move our home if doing so would disturb a nesting bird.
We tend to nickname the local critters, so she became Anna, while the drake is Platy.
Just heard my husband using his Dad Voice.
“Anna, don’t dig up the rosemary.”
“Anna, don’t eat the rosemary.”
“Anna, you’re a duck. You don’t need rosemary.”
“Anna, no.”
“ANNA, NO.”
But Anna yes.
At that point Platy hopped up in the bow and sat in the thyme.
“I don’t know what to do about this,” my husband said.
Yeah, that doesn’t look like a canonical OT3 at all. [/sarcasm]
Singin’ in the Rain = A++ POLY PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
In my head, the guys were always attracted to each other, but never did anything about it until she showed up and was just like ‘we’re all sleeping together now, but first we must write a musical.’
I am SO GLAD I’m not the only one who ships it
I’m of the opinion that Don and Cosmo were the worst kept secret in Hollywood – hence why all the publicity the studio was pushing about Don and Lena. Kathy comes along, Cosmo’s jealous for a bit, then it’s ‘sod it, she’s just too cute. the bed is totally big enough’.
This is all good, and I support it completely and with 110% of my heart.
Hi! Just as a warning, if any of you all plan to see Deadpool, there are some pretty heavy suicide themes to the film. They are NOT treated as a joke in any manner, in fact it’s taken (for a Deadpool film) quite seriously, but I wanted to warn you all in advance that there is a scene in which a character attempts suicide and makes references throughout the film about wanting to die. I do think the movie is very much worth seeing, but I wanted to share because this matter is quite upsetting and triggering to many and I thought a warning was in order.
Wish I would have seen this before I watched, I was NOT prepared
this is recent (May 2018) and talking about Deadpool 2 (not the first one) btw
So the hiatus has arrived, but I’ve developed a survey to help us pass the time and hopefully learn some interesting things.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to fill out and includes questions such as:
“Where do you think Dean falls on the Kinsey scale?”
“How do you think Dean currently feels about being attracted to men?”
“How likely do you think it is that Dean’s attraction to men will be made explicit on Supernatural?”
And much more.
I am hoping to get at least a couple hundred responses and not only report on the data from individual questions, but also analyze it for larger patterns (e.g. do fans who have been in the fandom for longer think it is more likely or less likely that Dean will be made explicitly queer on the show? Do younger fans differ from older fans in terms of why they think it matters that he be made explicitly queer? etc.)
If this topic is of interest to you, please take the survey and spread it! 🙂
FYI, I know this list is not exhaustive by any means, so feel free to reblog and tag with others you think might be interested. Also PLEASE feel free to spread it on other platforms. I don’t really fandom on other social media sites (except Twitter occasionally) but I’d love to get a wider variety of responses than people who are exclusive/primarily on Tumblr.
