No, seriously. If you don’t have money to help out an artist financially, the second best thing is to reblog all the things you like. While liking it does tell the artist that “hey I really like this!” It does jack shit because the only ones who will see that are me and you.
Why do you think there are so SO many posts made by people that are literally summed down to “please reblog my artwork I need the notes!”? Because no one reblogs artwork. Unless you’re a ridiculously popular blog with thousands of followers, you’ll only end up getting 1 or no reblogs.
SO HELP OUT ARTISTS AND PLEASE REBLOG OUR ART, BECAUSE WE REALLY NEED THE VIEWS ;V;)/
Friendly reminder. Reblog it if u dig it 🙂
^^^^^Allllll of this 👏👏👏
Hey this goes for fanfic writers on tumblr too!!!
I have a habit of reblogging original tumblr art, not because I want to help out the artist, but because I LIKE THE ART. But, ( a big but) I post my own art too, and if it gets ONE HEART I smile…..and that smile is priceless.
A lot of stuff I hit the heart, partially to say I like it or understand, but if it’s really good, I hit the reblog because advertising is better than nothing else…
And sometimes, like in @theartofmichaelwhelan’s case, you already know his work, just maybe didn’t realize it….
Yes, this…and it goes for all creators who put quality out there.
True story regarding our history as a Tumblr blog
I started this page 4 years ago. Despite Michael’s name recognition and existing base of followers on the website, it took a couple years to grow an audience organically here. A huge chunk of our 13k followers came when one of our posts was spotlighted on the Tumblr radar—I believe it was PEGASUS IN FLIGHT.
It happened randomly, probably thanks to a reblog hitting the right person’s feed at just the right time. Within 24 hours Tumblr featured Michael as a top artist on the platform and we were off to the races.
Because we found a receptive audience here, we create content specifically for this platform and blog here everyday. And I can tell you, Michael does pay attention to not just the messages we receive but all of the engagement on our page. It means a lot even to an artist of his stature.
So imagine what that kind of exposure does for an artist just starting their career? The truth is we all need an audience to engage and respond to the work we create.
You know, it’s weird because it USED to be the right music because I KNOW when I first watched “Salvation” on Netflix it had the right music, as did a lot of the season 1 stuff so I’m guessing the licences were ten years?
I THINK they play the right music on the reruns on TNT and I think the agreement for DVDs is different too so those have the right music?
The physical copies have the original music. From what I’ve been able to tell, ALL digital versions do not have the original music, including all streaming services and versions that you pay for on iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, etc.
Only the 1st season has this issue.
It’s definitely something screwy with the licensing, but I don’t think it’s an expiration. (I work in an industry adjacent to music licensing, so I’m not just pulling stuff out of my butt here.) Two possibilities that I’ve theorized:
1. Season 1 was filmed at a time when streaming was not really a thing yet, and licensing music for streaming is actually a separate part of a licensing agreement.
2. It was between the 1st and 2nd seasons that they made the switch from the WB to the CW. Agreements could have been made with the WB but not the CW. Since they’re technically different companies, there would be separate contracts.
Whatever the reason is, it’s a problem that affects more than just S1 of SPN; I’ve heard that all of the music for Charmed is cheap stock music. (And @justanotheridijiton just informed me Daria has the same issue and now I’m really sad. Clarification: the Daria DVDs do not have the original music, which also makes since cuz that show is so old.)
attention @ everyone who cares about animals!!!!!!!!!!
tl;dr: do NOT buy this brand of flea medicine. always do research before buying any kind of medication for your animals.
my boyfriend bought this at petsmart for our cat and when we put it on her, she started licking it bc i guess i accidentally placed it too low and he got worried so we’ve been on google to find out if it’ll harm her. we found some scary stuff.
it doesn’t happen to every cat that this product is used on, but there are reports of this product seriously hurting cats. it burns their skin and can be very painful. the screenshots above are reviews from amazon for the one in the blue box. the one we used is the one in the purple box.
some cats had reactions right away while others took a few hours. we put this on our cat about an hour ago (washed it off of her soon after) and she seems fine but we’re so worried about what could happen. even if nothing happens, this is a chance we never would had taken if we’d known.
ALWAYS RESEARCH BEFOREHAND. i can’t believe petsmart has this on their shelves after everything people have said about it. please spread the word by sharing this post! protect ur pets. a simple google search could have stopped all these cats from getting hurt.
Don’t buy anything but front line. I learned this lesson once long ago.
Looking at the 1-star average reviews here? The dog version doesn’t sound any safer, either. Lots of reports of neurological symptoms and other really bad reactions to the Sentry spot on products.
Don’t buy anything Hartz either…unless you want a dead cat/dog! 😦
– i’m socially exhausted
– i don’t have the time right now
– i don’t know how to reply
– i have a bad memory and got distracted
– i’m having a depressive episode and don’t have the energy to socialise
not reasons i haven’t replied back:
– i’m ignoring you just because
– i hate you
– i’m fed up with you
– i don’t want to be your friend anymore
“You don’t own me
I’m not just one of your many toys
You don’t own me
Don’t say I can’t go with other boys
.
And don’t tell me what to do
Don’t tell me what to say
And please, when I go out with you
Don’t put me on display…” – “You Don’t Own Me” (Madara/White), recorded by Lesley Gore, 1963.

At the age of sixteen, Lesley Gore, who died two years ago today, burst onto the pop charts with “It’s My Party,” and quickly followed it up with other hits like “Judy’s Turn to Cry,” the protofeminist anthem “You Don’t Own Me,” and “Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows.”
.
Although Gore largely dropped out of the pop scene in her later career, she continued to make music. In 1980, Gore and her brother received an Academy Award nomination for their work on the soundtrack of the 1980 film “Fame.”
.
In a 2005 interview, Gore came out publicly when she announced that she had been in a relationship with jewelry designer Lois Sasson since 1982.
.
Lesley Gore died of lung cancer on February 16, 2015; she was sixty-eight. She was survived by Sasson, her partner of thirty-three years. #lgbthistory #HavePrideInHistory #LesleyGore

As great as the lyrics to You Don’t Own Me are, they gain so much in the performance:
