This is back on my dash and I’m mostly recovered from looking at Jared’s hands here, so I’m going to muse for a minute.
Honestly, I think the only thing we can say for sure that we’re looking at is someone the boys know, who was presumed dead. Because that is the reaction they would both have – Dean: “Fuck, it’s something wearing the face of someone we love gotta kill it right now” and Sam being so stunned to see the person he thought was dead that he’s startled into lowering his gun.
Dean is the protector, the one jumping in front of any given bullet, the one who shoots first to save time and take no chances.
Sam is the negotiator (anyone remember him talking to a certain trickster in Changing Channels?), the one willing to give the person in front of them a chance no matter how badly that person has wronged him in the past.
Obviously I want it to be Gabriel. But it could be so many different people, as long as it’s someone they both knew was six feet under.
Charlie Charlie Charlie Charlie Charlie, etc. Only because I want her to tear both of them a new asshole for getting her killed.
I’d be happy if it was Gabriel, though, too.
Could be Crowley, if he’s looking particularly beat up after his encounter with Cas.
