imagine charlie and dean lounging on the MoL main table, just hanging out and having a chat, and Charlie brings up the Supernatural novels because she’s curious as hell and Dean very seldom agrees to discuss them. She starts talking about earlier books and mentions Victor, saying…

I hate this thing.

“I hate this thing,” he said. Because he wasn’t allowed to feel any differently. Wasn’t allowed to admire himself. Was afraid to primp himself up, the mountains of complexes on his appearance, his doey eyes, his full lips. And finally, years later, free from the chains of his father’s guilt, able to not only admire the suit, but to admire himself in it. Able to be free to be who he truly is.

*points proudly* That’s my favourite character of any TV show up here *insists pointing with enthusiastic expression*

and that my friends is perfect character development

Dean’s character development just makes me smile so much. This season he’s drinking a lot less, he’s a lot happier, he’s embracing his inner nerd, he’s stopped, or is trying to stop, being Daddy’s blunt little instrument and starting to allow himself to become a real live 2 d person. And I love it so much! <3<3<3

Abaddon has been out of action and doesn’t know of Dean’s time in Hell.

Remember Dean’s confession that he tortured souls and he liked it?

She thought she was scaring him with the gore-perpetrator schtick but actually, she was tempting him, which scared him on a whole other level.

Yup yup, my immediate thought as well.

See? This is why I think so much of Jensen Ackles’ acting. Because he showed us the scared, and it was completely different from his “Get away from me with that!” scared expression.
