never mistake that Dean turns around because future!dean wasn’t pointing at him. The camera fucking goes from blurry to clear and they show a Dean reaction shot. That is the exact moment when Dean found out that he and Cas in the future had a sexual relationship. He probably had high suspicions when he saw Cas but that (and the conversation that follows) seals it for him. 

That is why he he says “send you friends to die…and Cas too” because he knew that Cas was and has always been more than a friend and he for sure knew that he was more than a friend to future!dean.

Usually I’d say this is reading to far into it, but knowing the dialogue between all of the character this could very much be the case.

There are some gifsets on here that, as much as I love, have been fitted together not quite how they actually are on the show BUT THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

If the line wasn’t a referring to Cas not 2009!Dean then why the fuck did they shoot it like this!?

Ya know, in case you needed more proof that romantic tropes are used for Dean and Cas’ relationship, take these two scenes for example. The lines are almost identical, and thank you Rexy for pointing this out to me. :3 For those of you who don’t remember the episode basically the woman in the top gif is named Molly and she can’t find her husband after a car accident. Now in the episode she’s a ghost, but at that point we don’t know that and neither does she, but the bottom line is she refuses to leave the area where the crash occurred without her husband. Sort of how a certain man refused to leave a certain monster heaven without his angel by his side….
