How has dean seen cas naked on the impala in canon?
7×23, Cas was kind of passive aggressive about Dean praying to him. He didn’t answer and then eventually THIS is how he answered him. I would go into a huge rant about Cas and season 7 and Destiel and the shift in their dynamic and the fight they’re in for basically all of season 7, that gets put on pause when Cas dies and Dean’s drinking and season sevennnnnnnnnnnn but I’m way too drunk (I am doing a great job of typing atm I must be sobering up) to try to articulate it.
So I will just answer your question. Season 7 finale. Episode 23. Cas shows up on Dean’s car, naked, covered in bees.
For anyone who skipped season 7 because Cas “wasn’t in it” you’ve missed out on probably imo ½ the good destiel scenes at least and is basically most of the context for them moving forward. For the love of God watch season 7 it will blow your mind.

Can we take a minute to address the fact that Adam Williams, Supernatural Special Effects Coordinator, just used the above tags?
Mmm this makes me think…
So you think this was… your fault?
How there are people that cannot understand or fathom why so many people interpret Dean and Cas’s relationship as more than platonic, is beyond me. You don’t ship it? Fine. I don’t care. But the blatant dislike directed at Destiel shippers is ridiculous. Is it really so difficult to see? I mean, I understand it’s not exactly out there and in your face in plain writing, but really?
Scenes like these are what make their relationship so open for interpretation. Personally, this entire scene screamed romantic undertones to me. For one, we have Dean who has been feeling so completely guilt ridden all season that we were forever wondering what had happened in Purgatory between him and Castiel. Then we finally see what happened, from Dean’s point of view. That he left Cas behind, that he felt he was responsible, that he had failed Castiel. (“I don’t need to feel like crap for failing you. For failing you like I’ve failed every God-forsaken thing I care about!”).
But then what really blows my mind, is the fact that all of that was a complete hallucination on Dean’s part. He literally made it up because he could not deal with the idea that Castiel was actually the one who left him. Cas chose to stay in Purgatory. After Dean had fought tooth and nail, tortured and bled his way through monster after monster near a year, in order to find his angel, told Cas that either they’d both go through the portal or that he would die with Cas trying. And instead, Cas chose to stay behind. It astounds me that Dean came up with a completely alternative scenario, one where Cas didn’t choose to stay behind, one where Dean instead was the one who left Cas there, all because the thought of his angel not wanting to go with him… hurt too much… I’m sorry, how is this not a romance, again?
She knew who I was,
what I was.
She loved me unconditionally.
She forgave me.

Why Season Nine is Setting Up Dean for a Long-Term Love Interest (and Why I Think It’s Castiel)
aka Why the First Half of Season Nine Wasn’t As Shitty for Destiel Shippers As You Think
So amidst all the brouhaha surrounding this season – the apparent “bro-zoning” of Cas and Twittergate fiasco and so on – I have been noticing a pattern. Supernatural is a show, according…
Why Season Nine is Setting Up Dean for a Long-Term Love Interest (and Why I Think It’s Castiel)
It’s a little difficult to see, but look closely, right when Cas says I’m okay, he’s shaking his head, nullifying the very words that leave his mouth. Cas isn’t okay, because he wants to be with Dean, but Dean had made it very clear that he didn’t want Cas around. And Cas will always put what Dean wants in front of his own needs. So sure, he’ll go on pretending, but no⎯he’s not okay. Still, the worst part is that Dean doesn’t see that. He’s not looking for the wounded expression on Cas’s face. As Dean is turned away from Cas he gives an almost imperceptible nod, and we know what he’s thinking: that Cas is okay without him. The first “good“ he utters is to himself, it’s the broken mantra of Dean Winchester. Well, good, Cas is okay without him, and how could he ever be stupid enough to believe that Cas could need him as much as he needs Cas? Good, he says again, stronger now as he lets the walls build up around him. He’ll strap on his boots, slap a strong look on his face, and drown his emotions. He’s never needed anyone before, it’s always been Dean Winchester against the world. How could he let himself believe that one angel would make that any different?
Destiel is ridiculous, Dean is straight…
well, that one time, but he’s straigh…
but still, he’s strai…
ok but he’s stra…
