lordwhat:

i mean i don’t really get what they were trying to do with cas’s story line this season now i’ve seen the whole thing.

everyone’s been saying it already but i thought i’d hold off on being full on bitter (don’t know if i succeeded, probably not) until we saw where they were going and they just were not going anywhere with it at all and had about 6 random shifts in tone. just a really bad piece of writing.

it seemed like they were gonna tell cas that he mattered

since he’s obviously depressed and the lucifer story line was going to bring that about

but in the end they had dean tell him that him risking suicide was a necessary risk and a commendable action which is just a really disgusting message to send out to a fan base who has struggles with mental illness.

I really really didn’t read this scene in that way at all. It wasn’t about Lucifer, or about that decision at all. It was about Cas seeing himself as stupid for making the decision in the first place. What did you want Dean to say? “Yeah, Cas that was really stupid.” and kick the guy when he was already down?

Instead Dean broke pattern. Instead of belittling Cas for the choice he made, he supported him in it, even if it wasn’t a good choice. A complete reversal from the tail-end of season six and the reverberations from that, which arguably led to Cas feeling worthless in Dean’s eyes to begin with. I have friends with mental illness. I have them myself. Agreeing with someone when they say they’re stupid is not the way to go, ever.

Argh, I’m not really sure where I’m going with this, so I’ll just leave it there.

My personal experience with Travis Aaron Wade [Illustrated]

exorcisingemily:

More people are coming forward with their experiences with Travis Aaron Wade. While I’d made some pretty pointed subtweets, or remarked on particular situations, I’ve only recently on Twitter posted a more complete account of events from June 2015 to present. I’ve posted the following on Twitter, and am moving it here by the suggestion of other fans, so that fans can be aware and keep themselves safe within the fandom.

I realize that in this fandom, taking a fan’s word for things (whether you like them or not) can be difficult: we’re a contentious lot, and we do like our drama. I’ve attempted to illustrate some points that would otherwise just be my word below, so you don’t have to take things on faith.

In short (because this gets long): Travis Aaron Wade has stalked me, harassed me, bypassed blocks to continue harassing me, attempted to get me to strong-arm other fans for him, and has crossed all personal boundaries.

I have no problem with fans: if you’re a fan of his, that’s fine! But I ask that you all please be safe, and not be used to report back to him about other fans, enabling his behaviors.

“I’m a bisexual and I don’t think dean winchester is bisexual, that’s really offensive and ignores canonical fact”

sorry i can’t really hear u over how bi dean is

I’ve been laughing at this shit all day.

I think we all need to just sit back and wait for their LGBT studies program to hit actual queer theory.

[For those that did not see the post – someone was claiming that since they are bisexual and have learnings in LGBT studies, they have authority to state that Dean Winchester is not bisexual because the character and Eric Kripke have both said so, so there.]

I am SO glad I was not the only one who saw that BS for the BS it was. It’s the same as the old “you don’t want representation, you just want your ship to be canon” just with a different wrapping.

And seriously, I have searched High and LOW in all interviews and have yet to find that Eric Kripke quote about Dean being Straight. I have found the one about him having an obsession about bromances when talking about Revolution, but nothing about Dean in specific. Except that one where he based Dean off a bisexual character on a book, based on a real person who was bisexual. But hey, that never counts.

I’ve been following Kripke’s interviews since the press junket before the finale of the show even aired and I have never heard him comment on Dean Winchester’s sexuality. He’s extremely careful not to interpret the story for people on much smaller aspects than that. He doesn’t want to interpret the story for people. And it’s ironic that they’ve taken a quote out of the context of Kripke coming to realize just how much his work carries this thematic of homoerotic subtext to misrepresent his views on  Dean Winchester’s sexuality.

Kripke hasn’t really discussed On the Road since the very beginning, but he recently listed Sandman, American Gods, Good Omens and Hellblazer as his influence for the Pilot (all containing LGBT characters, and the last of which has a bisexual main character), and he did this within days of some straight Dean stans attempting to include him in their bullshit on twitter.

“I’m a bisexual and I don’t think dean winchester is bisexual, that’s really offensive and ignores canonical fact”

sorry i can’t really hear u over how bi dean is

except he’s not at all please fuck off

sorry I can’t really hear u over how bi dean is

sorry I can’t hear you over how canon-ly straight Dean is

if dean is straight how do you explain his blatant bisexuality???

Oh you know, with actual canon scenes where he explicitly has sex with females and the complete lack of any scenes where Dean interacts with a man in a romantic way idk just facts or something

Dude, Dean has flirted with more guys than I have flirted with girls and yet I am bi.

Somehow, having sex with guys didn’t change that fact for me? IDK, it’s almost like being bisexual means you’re attracted to the opposite sex as well as the same sex or something.

And much like Dean, I didn’t really figure it out/deal with it until I was in my 30s. And I didn’t even have John Winchester for a father.

And I flirt with my friends. Doesn’t mean I wanna fuck them. It’s almost like you idiots have no concept of how males interact with each other or something.

You clearly missed the point of my post, which was that an outside observer looking at my life would totally think I was straight. In fact, I thought I was straight for over 30 years.

And yet.

I’m not.

Much like Dean.

I went in the wincest tag.

Why do I do this to myself? I guess it’s a continuation of the bad case of trainwreck syndrome I’ve always had.

I’m trying to figure out why referencing Romeo and Juliet would be a good thing in this context, or why they thought that’s what the show was doing.

Tbh, it actually kinda feels like devaluing Dean’s choice, and romanticizing him making a very bone-headed move. If Dean is Romeo to Sam’s Juliet, then their relationship is actually much less important than the wincesters want it to be, because newsflash, geniuses: Romeo and Juliet were stupid teenagers who thought they were in love. It was an entirely unhealthy relationship, and instead of squeeing, people should be wanting Dean to move past this level of codependency.

But then, I’ve been a Dean!girl almost since day one, and since I want to see this character happy, I wish there was a way for him to be okay without Sam, should the worst happen.

And to bring up the Dean/Cas elephant in the room, I really do think that reaction at the end was about both of them (Sam and Cas) and possibly foreshadowing. At that moment, Sam is fine – Dean doesn’t have to worry about him. It’s Cas who is in the most danger of death. And Dean needs both of them in his life to stay on an even keel.

Plus, the show itself is showing Dean completely broken up over what’s currently going on with Cas, and possibly losing him. That’s what pushes him over the edge when he thinks Sam has died – the idea that he has no one. This time around, he didn’t even have Lisa and Ben to go to, and it’s clear that he’s taken responsibility for Cas’ choice onto himself, par for the course for Dean.

Also, this may be really incoherent and make no sense, but I’m writing at five in the morning, so…

thanks, @winjennster!! (✿◠‿◠)

So, I watched a video from the front row, and I finally understand why Misha said that (in the last gif). There were two or three people around the person taking the video (possibly the person actually filming, but I don’t know that for sure) who were sitting there while Jenn said this, who were loudly saying “Nope! No, no, I disagree!” and when someone around them challenged them on it, they quickly backtracked saying “Oh, I don’t hate him…” and then, when Jenn said “Screw the haters”, they  were all “I’d be so uncomfortable if I was her…”

So, Misha wasn’t speaking to haters in the audience in general, he was basically calling out those girls in the very front row. Which makes @winjennster‘s moment even more powerful. Because we really DID drown out the haters with our cheers!

#IStandWithMIshaCollins

Yes, here we go again.

Since I’m too aggravated to get into the specifics, here are the key details of what’s going on, as of 3/19/16

A fan (or multiple) has openly and repeatedly threatened physical harm to MIsha Collins with actual intent. (Threatening to spit in his face, punch him, cause harm to him,) These same people(s) have also threatened harm to “Destielhellers“ and “MIsha Minions” The venue coordinators of Creation Entertainment have received many warnings from concerned fans about Misha’s well-being at the current con he is attending. (Seacon) The “fan”(s) are also attending this con as well.

Currently, precautionary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of MIsha. Added security, all things that are handed to Misha for ops or autos are being checked first.

Misha Collins is AWARE of the hate, he has seen it, and he knows what is going on. Fans who are currently at Seacon are saying that he is extremely put off, nervous and anxious. He knows about the threats made to him and his fans and he is worried. MIsha is completely aware of what’s happening. He is feeling really down and out about this and really needs love and support right now. I was hoping we as a FAMILY can help fix this. Let him know we are here and we are louder than the haters and we are strong.

Let’s let MIsha know he is not alone.

Let’s get #IStandWithMIshaCollins trending

my wish is that one day spn fans will realize all shows have flaws and you don’t need to qualify “liking the show” with “despite its flaws”

you can just say “i like the show. i like the show this season. here are some really great things i love!”

To the person on Facebook who decided to rip @demonwolfgurl a new one for the cockles bridal op – people like you are why I’m currently debating leaving this fandom.

For the millionth time and louder for the people in the back – THE BOYS DO NOT DO ANYTHING THEY DON’T WANT TO. They absolutely have the power to veto op requests.

Get over yourself.

THEN LEAVE!!! When rules are stated why does people think that those rules apply to everyone else but her or you? Jensen didnt look anywhere near comfortable doing the op, but because JENSEN IS A BETTER PERSON, did it anyways. It will be because of “fans like her and you that it will come to NO photo op, and such at conventions. You need to get over yourself, thinking its ok to do what you want anyway, with a BLATANT disregard for posted guidelines! MC is just loving to engage in the behavior that ‘as long as it makes ME happy, I’m going to do it.’ SICKENING

Oh yeah and your response has ZERO to do with your personal feelings of hate towards Misha am I right?

When are people going to figure out that Jensen Ackles does nothing he doesn’t want to do?

Maybe he ‘doesn’t look comfortable’ because he’s holding up a man nearly his own height and weight and it has nothing to do with the fact he didn’t want to do it?

Or because he doesn’t smile in pretty much any op? Grumpy Jensen has become his thing.

@sammygurl976-blog I saw this op take place with my own eyes as I was just a few people back in line, and I’ve had several conversations with the lovely girl who took the op. She asked politely, she didn’t demand, and Jensen swung Misha up into his arms EASILY, without hesitation. Moments later he was dancing, giggling, smiling, and whispering with Misha. If he didn’t want to do it, he wouldn’t have done it, and he was not in ANY way perturbed by the situation. The boys are constantly defying the official rules of their handlers, so please don’t get up on your high horse and make preposterous assertions like one girl asking for a pose J&M did happily is going to bring an end to all photo ops.

I’m pretty sure what DOES bother Jensen is when people say hateful things about his friend.
