Fan: When we first watch Supernatural we thought “he is really handsome” but then we found out that there were so much more than that, that you had so much more to offer. We think that a good actor can take you in a different place and is able not only to make you forget that you are watching an actor but also who makes you care about the character’s journey. And you really make people who watch you care about you and your character… and not just because you have a pretty face. You handle both tragedy and comedy with equal ability and your eyes speaks a thousand words even when you are saying nothing at all. So when Supernatural will end, don’t think about it as a conclusion, but as a stepping stone which will bring you to a bright future because you are Oscar material. [x]

  • The sequence was miserable for Ackles, who spent four hours in make-up having the various hooks and other prosthetics applied. Wired cuffs around his wrists and ankles, as well as a harness around his waist, were used to lift him 13 feet into the air in front of a green screen. To his discomfort, the harness slipped, causing its buckle to continuously dig into his hip throughout the scene’s three or four takes. The actor, who “had tears rolling down his face” as he was lowered down, deemed it the most physical pain he has endured for a single shot.

Bonus: How do you make certain decisions for Dean, like the scene where Cas dies and you took the trenchcoat out of the lake and folded it, I thought that wasn’t scripted?

Jensen: It was not. A lot of those are just character instinctual things I’ve been playing Dean so long I feel like I have a pretty good handle on how he would react to a situation – his relationship with Cas was very deep, there was a deep friendship there, and I discussed it with Guy Bee, and said if he ever comes back, he’s gonna need the trench coat. And there was just something like, almost a closure, I was just folding it up, like a flag. So I pulled the coat out, and Guy was like “Do that again.” I wanted to take care of it, it belonged to somebody who meant a lot to Dean.
