Hang on a tick…

Pretty much EVERYBODY on my dash is saying how OOC of Charlie it was to leave the brewery, but…

Sam said, “You’d be working with one of the most dangerous witches in the world.”

And then Rowena talked about how easily she could read Charlie, and proceeded to say things designed to make Charlie start questioning herself as well as the Winchesters.

And then we see them arguing.  Charlie complains to Cas about Rowena “criticizing [her], breathing down [her] neck,” to the point that she feels that “something bad is going to happen here.”

And then, Charlie says, “My mind is… is… It’s a wad of gummi worms.”

Charlie Bradbury, who out-thought Dick friggin’ Roman, who, as everyone also pointed out, survived months if not years of being on the front lines in a war in Oz against an evil wizard.  Even before Oz, she was pretty hard to reduce to that kind of muddled thinking even when when she was terrified.  She nicked the Book of the Damned and successfully eluded the Stynes for weeks.

Rowena wants to hurt the Winchesters, and specifically Dean.  Charlie flat out told her that she loved Dean.  Cas’ reaction to the situation would have told Rowena how much Dean thought of Charlie.

Rowena has cast spells that had demons seeing things and doubting their own perceptions, yes? Manipulating their minds into dreaming specific things.

Maybe I’m adding two and two and getting oranges, but it’s entirely possible that Bucklemming were trying to show us that Charlie was OOC because Rowena manipulated her into it.

foolscapper Yes definitely. Dean was terrifying tonight. I actually covered my eyes a few times. Like that moment where Sam comes around the corner as he’s hanging up with Cas and Dean’s right there? I clapped my hands over my face. He’s so frightening. I don’t know if I’ve ever been as scared of something on the shows as I am of Dean with the Mark.

For me it was when Dean was confronting Sam towards the end. The silent calm, the patient tone, the creepy music, the fact that Dean wasn’t in sam’s line of sight. This scared me SO much.

(I understand maybe this is denial) but I actually don’t think they killed Charlie off for good

I don’t. Maybe I’m being naive, but after all the criticism they’ve come under for 1. gratuitously killing female characters 2. having no LGBTQ characters 3. repeatedly killing characters just for shock value…i dunno. I somehow find it hard to believe they’d be THIS stupid.

Currently I’m inclined to think this death was intended to be temporary all along. And either something from the Book of the Damned is gonna save her, Rowena is gonna resurrect her for some reason or she’ll somehow be brought back to life by the Stynes. (I mean, there are even more possibilities than that, because its Supernatural, but those seem the most likely to me) I honestly suspect it will be Rowena’s doing, but either way, I don’t think this is designed to be permanent. I don’t

I just can’t imagine them pulling something like this after all the shit they’ve gotten for doing it so many times before. It just doesn’t make any sense.

And especially with the HUGE emphasis in the previous episode that death doesn’t have to mean goodbye forever.

That was definitely Show saying WAIT YOU DON’T HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION YET.

I can definitely see how they’ve set things up to bring Charlie back, and I have no doubt that they will do, but I was just as confident that we’d be seeing Bobby and Kevin again, too. That doesn’t make anything easier to deal with.
