It’s so telling that season 7, which documents Dean’s spiral into depression, ends with Dean getting Castiel and Baby back in the same fucking scene. Because accidents happen accidentally and the car doesn’t reflect Dean’s inner landscape at all, and the car wasn’t lost to him while Castiel was lost to him.
