EVERYBODY SHIPS IT.
Um, hi, I just wanted to ask your thought about the way Dean and Cas are positioned in the 10×09 promo? Like, don’t people usually sit opposite side of each other when they are presented with small table+ 4chair combination? I think I never saw Sam&Dean sitting shoulder to shoulder like that. Is it to hide swapping food easier? Idk, it’s just a small thing but it seemed a bit odd so I thought I might ask you x)
In thinking about how to answer you, I ended up thinking a lot about seating arrangements both from a cinematography and compositional angle as well as from a character angle.
Let’s start with the technical issues of shooting and framing:
When shooting a dialogue between two people in TV or film, it is common to employ a two shot (two people in the frame) where the camera looks over the shoulder of one character, as in this scene from 10×07 Girls, Girls, Girls.
In the above screencap, the camera looks over Sam’s shoulder during Dean’s lines. In the one below, the camera looks over Dean’s shoulder during Sam’s lines.
Playing it close to the vest, eh Jerry?
So, he knows fandom has seen the ships. And must know how we’re interpreting them. And his answer gives absolutely nothing away. Nada. I guess he really couldn’t do anything else, though, without getting in trouble with TPTB.
JESUS H ROOSEVELT CHUCK ON A POGO STICK.
That’s it. I’m done.
Because the OP did not @ tag him in that tweet. He went looking.
